Gail Jewell After forty years of making seed bead jewelry, at age 60, I decided I wanted to learn to make glass beads. I took to the torch with happy abandon! Soon I had more beads than I knew what to do with........sorta like the old woman who lived in a shoe. Then I had to take up wire work so I could use all these beads. Shortly after that I discovered gemstone and pearl beads......oh, joy! This jewelry making has turned out to be more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

Artist Statement

Like Filagree work, wire jewelry is fragile so care must be taken when storing it.  I allways wear a new design to make sure that it is able to withstand normal wear and tear.  Should any of my jewelry become damaged accidentally, I will repair it if possible.  The only charge will be for materials and shipping.  The shoulder strap of your car seat belt is a threat to allmost any necklace.  The unsupported knitted chains I offer are particularly vulnerable to irrepairable damage.  When ever any of my knitted chains go by-by they reside in their own little box until arrival.

You can return any of my jewelry within ten days of receipt for a refund (excluding shipping) as long as it is returned in the same condition as it was sent.

I mostly work in Gold Filled wire:  Gold-filled wire is made by combining a layer or layers of gold alloy to a base metal (usually brass), then rolling or drawing the metal to the desired thickness and shape. It has a long life and can be worn by most people without reaction or difficulties. Gold-filled items are considered life-time products, and the gold layer will not wear off, as it will in electroplated products.

The natural colored copper I use has a fired-on clear coating to keep it from tarnishing.  If you like the aging effect you must custom order .
